I love this state-of-the-art visitor center on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Asheville, NC. The structure is very industrial and cool-looking, and they provide a lot of information about the Parkway and the surrounding area of Western North Carolina. I would highly recommend stopping in to visit here.
"The building itself reflects the cutting edge of energy-saving technology. The LEED-certified structure incorporates active/passive heating/cooling, radiant floor heating, a "green" roof, and other energy efficient features. Exhibits focus on the history and heritage of the Blue Ridge Parkway and Western North Carolina. The visitor center also houses interactive kiosks which provide information on places to visit."
