Blowing Rock, North Carolina

Charm, charm, charm.  This is a beautiful, charming - very small - town.  It was a gorgeous, cool day to walk around in downtown Blowing Rock, North Carolina.

These flowers were SO pretty!

Giant white pumpkin (I think that's what that was!)

The little - very little - museum

Almost all the color is gone from the trees in the park.

This is a beautiful park in the center of the downtown area.

Veterans' Memorial - VERY nice!

Barney Fife's patrol car (his hat is sitting on the dashboard).

Nice statue.

I love these old, brick buildings.  Typical of the south.

I stopped in for a DELICIOUS cup of hot chocolate at this coffee shop called 3rd Space Coffee Bar.   OMG, it was SO good!  The guy asks me, "Do you want whipped cream?"  Ah, excuse me, do you EVEN have to ask that??  This shop is not directly on Main, you have to go down a couple steps and around the back to find it - but it is well worth a visit.  Super friendly!

Cute little outdoor area to sit and drink your coffee or hot chocolate.

They love their autumn and Halloween decorations!

I am proud to be that "IDIOT"!  For sure!

LOTS of people enjoying this beautiful day.

These ladies were having SO much fun with their little spider hairbands!  I asked, "can I take your picture," and they told me I was not the first one to ask!  They were cute!

Blowing Rock is very, very dog-friendly.  I find that a lot of places in NC are!  I love it!

Lassie, "Go find Timmy!"

The one and only drawback I saw to Blowing Rock, was that everybody on the ENTIRE PLANET was here today.  Lots of traffic and a bit of a challenge to park.

Shocking to see such cheap gas in North Carolina.  It's cheap in South Carolina, but this was a good find outside Blowing Rock!
